I have drove the car for over 160,000 km, it is a pretty good car.
We liked the CX-7, though its base four-cylinder engine was lackluster in terms of power and fuel economy. The feisty turbocharged upgrade engine easily cured the performance problem, but its fuel mileage was worse than the fuel economy of some larger, V6-powered crossovers. As more well-rounded and fuel-efficient competition sprang up, sales of Mazda's compact crossover decreased steadily.

This vehicle has been praised by multiple mechanics as a solid vehicle made with high quality parts, when performing routine maintenance like changing brakes or the oil.

Cannot say enough of how well this SUV turbo engine performs.

So far so good, not the best but can be worst. Fuel is the worst part of the car, I would not buy car that take premium gas.

Drinks gas like crazy!
I like everything about this car except the gas consumption.
I wouldn't buy this car again or recommend anyone buying it.

I love this car and wish they still made this model!i've driven this car for 10 years and love it! The exterior is classic and simple the interior is spacious with excellent trunk space and I love my turbo engine.

I am driving this cal since 2012 and its really a comfort car. You can drive strait 2000kms without break except gas fill. You won't feel any uncomfortness. Mileage vise also good as per SUV standard. Amazing Boss music system,very rare in cars. Any weather condition no problem at all. This is most reliable car I used in last 5 years. The only reason to sell is I want go for hybrid car,or else I never sell this car.

Handles great in the snow, lots of room. T'his is the best car I have ever owned. The fit and finish is second to none. From my leather seats to sunroof to its amazing stereo. I have driven this car across Canada and not a worry. Great car.....

An automatic transmission is standard on all models. The base model gets an estimated 20/27 mpg city/highway, which is about average for the class. This is our second CX7 and have loved owning them. From the power under the hood to the incredible sound of the Bose sound system. I highly recommend looking at this one!!!

This has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. No blind spots, it handles amazingly. I recently took it on an 18 hour road trip and used 3 tanks of gas. It is a sleek looking ride and I am looking forward to buying my CX-5!

Mazda CX7 is a great car, nice performance and comfort on long trips. I own a CX7 from 2009 and I never had any problems.

I bought this car brand new when it came out. Have been thoroughly happy with it since day one. One of the best things I like about the car is the good visibility all around. Nice and roomy interior. Very responsive, handles great and good feel while driving.

horrible on fuel. the mazda dealer can't figure out why my suv is so hard on fuel. it cost $30 to drive for 30minutes on the hyw. it took one week for the dealer to figure out the suv needed a new oxygene sensor. my suv also had to have it's timing chain changed at 125000km. I'd recomend to buy a suv from a dealer that has a good reputation in your town when it comes to repairs. the only good thing is the turbo.

This is my second CX7 I previously had a 2007 GS version. The main tradeoff was loosing the turbo charged engine but gaining leather heated seats. Once you have heated seats you never go back but thats aother topic.

Both versions seem to have one very minor issue the engine light would come on (guessing is an issue with the gas cap) Eventually it went away but that was the main noted issue.

It's smart looking, has every option you could ever want, it performs up to my expectations and has been totally reliable.

CX-7 is very comfortable on long drives. The fuel economy is a bit disappointing though, and considering it requires premium fuel, should have a little more horsepower for a turbo engine. Mazda would have done well if they tuned the 2.3T to the same performance as the Mazdaspeed6 has in the same engine.
Have 85,000km on my 2009 and no issues with reliability and no major repairs needed, just regular maintenance. Very comparable to Acura/Lexus SUVs in terms of luxury and featrures for a lot less $.
The BOSE Centrepoint Stereo is amazing. Clear, crisp sound right up through the volume range.

this car is safe second one we owned and have been on some mountain fully loaded road trips and there was no lack of power or passing capabilities!!

This Mazda drives like a sports car, agile and fun-to-drive vehicle.Very spacious trunk, can be more spacious when the rear seats are reclined, this can prove useful! 4 wheels drive makes the ride smooth even in snowing conditions. I really enjoyed driving this car.

very reliable, comfortable and safe. Looks like and suv but drives like a car, great handling. No mechanical problems and good on gas. Overall a great value.

I would have loved this Turbo Charged boy racer when I was 40 yrs old. Great speed and handling was amazing. To fast for this 72 yr old mans wife.
She was afraid I'd lose my license. Truth to tell she was right...
Cons:- Had to fold the back seats to get our golf clubs and trolleys inside. Also it uses premium petrol. Otherwise brilliant. Traded it for a Mazda CX9 - see review...

Very reliable, and comfortable. Selling it because Im moving abroad. It has all the comforts and luxury without the price tag. Really good performance. Definitively recommend it.

got this car 5 months ago, not disappointed so far...I'm aware of all the problems that people have add with this car, turbo ac timing chain...
Hopefully I wont have any of these issues until I trade it next year!!

Although a 2.3 L engine, this suv/crossover has all the kick of a mid size v6 suv without the high gas costs. Interior design and features have not lost their wow factor over the years.
