Mazda RX-8 2002-2011Change

I've owned this car for 5 years and I have nothing but this to say; best 4 seater RW drive sport car you can buy. Aside from it's age and fuel eco, the Mazda RX-8 has many advantages over it's 4 seating counterparts in the same tier such as the FRS/BRZ. Not to mention, it's waaay more fun. I've had the chance to drive with the FRS and I must say I was disappointed with how the stock tires and size of the vehicle prevented the car from sticking to the corners without risk of spinning out. The RX-8 handles corners like a dream, almost incomparable. the 50/50 weight ratio comes into a major play with this aspect. You will be paying for matinence on a frequent basis, and with an older model most likely you'll get recall notices in the mail on occasion or a part needing to be replaced. But this car has given me so much joy. And to see a spankin car like this for a 2004?! I mean, it puts any 2004 car to shame with it's stunning modern look, for it's time this was stunning car and still is today. It's also the XMEN car featured in X2, so that's a bonus...
Any how, good visibility in driver seat, functional trunk, comfortably sits 4 people, suicide back doors for rear passengers for ease of access (plus those doors are sick), fun engine with spunk, modern design, bad fuel eco and yet you can sure appreciate everything else enough to buy one. I promise you - behind the wheel you will fall in love instantly.

First, some up-front honesty. This car isn't going to be the best all-rounder on the road, and it does gulp gas and have some special needs.

But here's the thing: you won't care. It lives up to the hype. It drives and feels like a much more expensive car. It feels like an exotic. People heap attention on you in parking lots and at the gas pump. It sticks to the road like glue. The rotary engine makes a sound that no engine with cylinders could ever make, and you will get hopelessly addicted to it. The ride isn't luxurious, it's exhilarating. The gas pedal is borlerline twitchy, constantly begging you to bury it. It's a car for people who enjoy an engaging and raw driving experience and it delivers at a silly-low price point. You could easily compare its driving dynamics with some pretty expensive sports cars. The value for dollar on these things is astronomical. If you love to drive and you're looking for a car to fall in love with, give one a try.

I always wanted to see what all the hype was about these rotary engine cars. I made the mistake of test driving one of these cars and I could not wipe the smile off my face. About an hour later I was in the dealership office trading in my Jeep. I absolutely fell in love with this car. Its extremely fast and you do not even need to apply the brakes when you take a corner. I've taken OnRamps with this car with a posted speed limit of 30kms/hr at 95kms/hr and the car was glued to the road. The handling is unparalleled and perfectly balanced. When I brought the car for my mechanic to look over he first stressed to me the importance of oil maintenance and then wanted to take it for a spin. He loved it. Up on the hoist him and his co-worker kept marvelling at the engineering of the suspension and engine components.
When you are sitting in the car its very low to the ground and the wide stance give the feel of a very expensive exotic car and it can keep up with lots of them. I urge people to watch the Top Gear UK review of the RX8 as the host hits the nail on the head. If these cars were maintained properly they will last years and you can pile up the KMs just like a regular engine car. I think thats why they get a bad rap, people buy them and don't know how to treat them. They are drivers cars and perform best when driven hard.

Had my eye on this beauty when I first saw it appear on the movie X-Men . The details and design of the exterior and interior is eye-grabbing. I loved everything about this car. Sad to have to let it go.... If I can afford to have a truck and the RX8 i will keep it forever.

this car was really fun,its one of the best cars i have driven,speed,acceleration,performance all great under the hood! Even better when the inside is just as perfect as everything else,fully equipped,nothing bad ever happened while i had it,great car just the gas that was a lot using but beside that,awesome car

This is car is fast and rides very smooth. I have never more comfortable seats in a car. The car has been kept indoors in a heated underground parking garage year round.The car is reliable, handles very, very well and has been a pleasure to drive for the past two years.

A fantastic driving experience! Smooth acceleration with great cornering. Allows the driver to feel completely in control of the vehicle, and the road! The stereo surround system gives off exceptional sound quality, especially when the sunroof, and windows are open! A very fun car to own!!!

This car drives like it's on a track, no oversteer, no stability issues, no suspension lag. It goes into a corner without any perceptible roll ... being able to downshift into the power gears at high RPM keeps this car going wherever you point it. The interior is beautifully designed and the creature comforts are first rate. Once I got in the vehicle, I didn't want to get out. Mazda has outdone itself with this beauty ...

I think this is one of the best designed cars on the road. I can't find anything comparable in terms of great looks, passenger comfort, access and egress, etc. I hope Mazda brings them back, and either improve the mileage and emissions of the super smooth rotary engine, or come up with a more efficient but suitably strong engine - electric would be great - it could be great Tesla competition.

Bought an 05 in 09 and absolutely LOVE this car. It redlines @ 9000 RPM! Is super fast and handles high speed like a boss. Also the suicide doors help with insurance as well as it being classified as a 2 cylinder. It's pretty sexy too ;)

Hot car to drive lots of fun . Quiet car with a great bose system. Cool dash lights feels like your in a plane cool! Great handling and corning if get a chance to own one do it!

I have owned this car for almost 3 years, and have loved every min of driving!
I was exceptional happy with how it handles in the wet and raining weather!

This car is amazing, it flies down the road, with 6 gear standard transmission, sunroof, suicide back doors, Heated Seats, CD player, great stereo, all the bells and whistles, immaculate, never winter driven, looks new and drives like a dream. You have to see and drive this one to really appreciate it. But beware, once you're in it, you will never want to get out!!

Favorite ride with the roof open and tunes playing as we wind up the sea to sky highway. Quick, quiet and responsive. Convenient 2 plus 2 with easy access rear seats. Always get looks as we drive by!

I am so sad to have it go :( I really want to take it to Vancouver but it would be too much to deal with. I have become a huge fan of the rotary engine and look forward to buying another RX8 in the future. I have never had so much pleasure driving before, if you have't driven one of these cars before.. add it to your bucket list.

I bought my RX-8 two years after owning a little Kia Rio (my first car). I bought it used from a lady who is a mechanic/engineer and she took great care of this vehicle, as I have for the past two years.

If you like speed...this is the car for you...the initial take off from a stop is thrilling and makes me feel like a race car driver for sure!

The absolute only reason I am selling this car is because I am going away on a year long back packing trip and do not want to store it for an entire year. I am driving the car still until it sells, and borrowing my parents extra vehicle until I leave in September.

This RX-8 is fun, exciting, reliable, and can be driven in the winter if you are careful! It is rear wheel drive so winter tires are a must (I have some on rims for sale).

Whoever purchases this car is getting a steal of a deal!

While the fuel economy isn't exactly "green", my RX8 is a car that can be both practical and sporty in one time. The car comes stock with a very sharp design. My only problem with this car is that I want to upgrade the rims, the headlights, etc., but everything is already nice

very reliable fun and fast, amazing handling 2 year warranty extra, $1700 worth of recent tune ups have bills to prove. women driven to so no burnouts or anything, kept up with oil changes and regular services

Mostly used in the summer and winter stored. Recently checked through at Mazda dealorship. Ready to let it go. Its been a good ride. A true sports car. Also an added entertainment screen dash mounted!

Very easy to drive, fun and looking stylish! The performance is very good and I totally enjoyed the ride. I have got lots of good feedbacks and compliments from my friends and people who saw my car. It sounds good and has power.

The car lives for corners with it's 50/50 weight balance. It wants to be driven hard and fast. Handles great in all conditions. It's surpisingly comfortable for 4 adults for short distances.
Needs attention to it's oil consumption due to it's rotary engine but what a beautiful sound!

Beware this car is very easy to break. A small mistake may cause the engine to flood. Parts and servicing is the same as a BMW. Car wants premium gas only. It is fun to drive but running costs are not worth it.

I like the style and the power of this car but the fuel economy is really a big issue. I have to get rid of it recently just because this issue. After all it's a sports car we can complain too much about that. Over all I had fun with this car. If you want buy this car, don't hesitate.
