2017 Subaru Forester Canadian Pricing: Starting From $25,995

We've already brought you the changes to the 2017 Subaru Forester. Things like wider and longer view for the EyeSight driver assist cameras, a new grille and more body colour trim. Plus there are changes for the cabin like improved insulation and acoustic glass. Now we have Canadian pricing and trim information for the 2017 Forester refresh, along with some of the options that go with them. So here you go.

The base trim is the 2.5i with a 2.5L four-cylinder boxer engine making 170 hp. With a six-speed manual transmission, sticker price is $25,995. That comes with a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Starlink phone integration, aux input and steering wheel controls. A CVT will add $1,300. The manual transmission and CVT equipped Foresters get a different all-wheel drive system, with the manual equipped models using a viscous-coupling limited slip centre differential. CVT models get an electronically controlled centre diff that manages torque split based on what the computer tells it is best for the acceleration, braking, and cornering you're trying to accomplish.

Next is the 2.5i Convenience for $29,195, which comes in CVT only. It also gets 17-inch wheels. The 2.5i Touring is available with a manual ($30,495) or CVT transmission ($31,795). Touring gets blind sport warnings and rear cross traffic alerts. The technology package (CVT only, $33,295) adds reverse automatic braking, which will stop the car if it thinks you're about to back into something. Top trim for the 2.5 is the 2.5i Limited ($35,795) which gets an upgraded 7.0-inch screen with navigation, Siri Eyes Free, and a Harmon Kardon eight speaker stereo. It also gets a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats. There are also LED low and high beams with adaptive lighting. The technology pack raises that to $37,295 and comes with the same active safety additions as on the Touring.

The fast one is the 2.0XT. XT's get a 2.0L turbocharged four making 250 hp. It's CVT-only and comes in Touring ($33,995), Limited ($37,995) and Limited with technology package ($39,495). The 2.0XT trims share features with their 2.5i counterparts, but jump to 18-inch wheels.

The 2017 Subaru Forester should arrive in dealers later this year.
