Ford Recalls Escape Models for Fuel Leak Risk

We've been seeing a significant number of recalls lately related to potential fuel leaks. We're not sure if it's a fluke or there's something else at play, but we have another one for you today.

This time, the vehicle in question is the Ford Escape, from model years 2010 through 2012. In this case, the fuel delivery module -- which we assume is an assembly that includes the fuel pump and various other related components -- may have been built out of too-thin material that can crack in the area of a fuel supply port. If that were to happen, pressurized fuel could leak from the pump and, in the presence of an ignition source, catch fire.

Ford is asking its dealers to replace the faulty part of the fuel delivery module with a redesigned piece.
