The 2018 Nissan 370Z coupe and roadster get a slightly revised appearance, engine tuning changes, and a new clutch for stick-shift cars. What they don't get is more expensive, starting from $29,998.
The updated 370Z coupe and roadster get a new dark-look headlight surround and tinted taillights. The lower fascias are blacked out front and rear as well. New 19-inch Rays alloys are optional. Base model cars get two more stereo speakers - for a total of six - and the Passion Red of the photos is a new colour with a tinted clearcoat.
The 370Z carries on with a 332 hp 3.7L V6, but Nissan says that the "driving experience has been enhanced through optimized acceleration and torque profile tuning." So power is unchanged, but it should deliver it in a more pleasing way.
A six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic are the two transmission choices. The rev-matching manual gets a new Exedy high-performance clutch.
Both open and fixed-roof Zs get a new Sport trim with some extra performance. It has special 19-inch Rays wheels as well as front and rear spoilers, as well as Bose audio and heated mirrors, but it delivers mechanically as well. The Sport gets Nissan Sport brakes, 14.0-inch rotors with four-piston opposed callipers up front, two-piston opposed callipers in the rear. A viscous limited-slip differential comes with teh package.
The Nismo 370Z sees upgrades as well. Dunlop SP Sport MAXX GT600 high-performance tires share a tread pattern with the GT-R. They maintain performance but have 20 percent lower rolling resistance and less road noise. For a more enjoyable drive to the track, we suppose.
The Nismo 370Z is manual-transmission only, and has 350 hp, same as last year.
