Kia's Sedona minivan gets a new look, new gearbox, and new infotainment system for 2019. To go along with the changes, it gets a price hike of $500.
The 2019 Kia Sedona refresh starts with bolder headlights, that get LED lighting on top trims. The Kia tiger nose gets refreshed here too, with a more detailed mesh-like pattern. The new bumper adds a larger air intake. At the rear, the taillights have been revised with an updated tailgate graphic. The slightly shorter bumpers give it a sleeker side profile thanks to the shorter overhangs. A new top SXL trim adds a special bumper, skid plate, LED lights, and 19-inch alloys.
Inside, the dashboard has received a slight update and new graphics. The front console adds an available wireless charging mat. There are more USB ports in the back as well. Another boost for rear-seat passengers is the new optional dual 10.1-inch entertainment system. The top audio system is now a Harmon Kardon unit with eight speakers.
The 276 hp and 248 lb-ft 3.3L V6 adds two gears, getting an eight-speed automatic. Kia says it improves fuel economy figures, although the Canadian numbers aren't yet available.
The active safety suite adds new Advanced Smart Cruise control that adds stop and go functionality. It also has a driver attention alert system that is added to the forward collision warning, rear cross traffic, and forward collision avoidance.
The Sedona gets Kia's UVO Intelligence telematics system that lets you control the vehicle from your phone. Along with that is a new 7.0-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The 2019 Kia Sedona is on sale now, with top trims arriving later this summer.
