Dodge and SRT are adding some attitude to the 2019 Charger SRT Hellcat, in case the immenseness that is the 707 hp 6.2L supercharged V8 wasn't quite enough of that for you.
It's called the Charger SRT Hellcat Octane edition, and it adds some new trims, colours, and equipment, some of which haven't been previously available on the Charger Hellcat.
The Octane edition is available in Pitch Black or White Knuckle paint colours. On top of that, it adds a satin black centre stripe running from bumper to bumper that's silhouetted with red accent tracers on each side. All of the exterior badges are finished in black as well, including the grille, the trunk lid, and the fender badges. The rear spoiler is painted, you guessed it, black.
There's a Brembo brake package added that comes with six-piston calipers up front and four in the rear. The calipers are finished in a special Octane Red that matches the accent stripes on top. Those brakes sit inside 20-inch wheels that were adopted from the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 drag racer.
The wheels feature a knurled lip on the bead that is intended to keep the wheels from rotating inside the tire. Something that is definitely a possibility when you're using the new Launch Assist that monitors your launch to make sure you're not getting driveline destroying wheel hop while getting maximum acceleration.
Inside, the Octane Edition gets SRT Performance seats with a houndstooth insert. Dodge says it's the first time a Charger Hellcat has come with those seats that also sport Hellcat logo badging. There is red accent stitching throughout the cabin and red seat belts.
Canadian pricing for the Octane Edition, which is set to arrive at dealers in the fall, hasn't been released yet, but in the US option price is set at $1,495 over the price of a 'base' Charger Hellcat, which in Canada currently starts at $83,190 with destination.
