A refreshed version of Chevrolet's third-hottest model has just debuted and is set to arrive later this year. The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse, the brand's popular three-row crossover, is getting a new face with sharper lights and a new grille, a new roof, better wireless connectivity, and some new active safety features.
The first thing you'll notice is the new narrower headlights, about half as tall as the old ones. Between the more angular lights, the front fascia has become sharper too, with a new grille and revised fog light housings. The rear bumper sees similar changes including sharper, narrower taillights to match, and four new wheel designs.
Inside, there are new seating options including a Jet Black with Clove-accent leather version on High Country trim. Wireless versions of both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto join the options list, along with a larger wireless phone charger to keep your connected phone topped up and a seventh USB port for those that are plugged in. There's a stop/start disable switch now, for those times when the system is a hindrance, not a help, and for adding some extra light to the cabin, the available two-panel power sunroof gains a power rear sunscreen.
Adaptive cruise is now available on more trims, previously limited to top High Country, and GM has added forward collision alert, high beam assist, automatic emergency braking, and front pedestrian braking as standard across the board. Rear cross-traffic and lane change alerts join the options list, new for 2021.
Carrying over is the 3.6L V6 and nine-speed automatic transmission combo, as well as the eight-seat Traverse's massive 2,781L of max cargo capacity. The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse is set to arrive at dealers later this year.
