2022 Acura RDX Canadian Pricing Announced, SUV Gets Updated Styling, More Tech

Acura revealed today that its refreshed 2022 RDX compact luxury crossover will be priced starting at $45,800 when it arrives at Canadian dealerships this fall.

That’s about a $1,300 increase compared to 2021, but the crossover comes with updated styling inspired by the larger MDX SUV, the promise of a quieter cabin, and some new technology.

Acura has also slimmed the number of trim packages from six to five by eliminating last year’s Elite configuration, and combining the A-Spec and Platinum Elite into a new top trim level, where you’ll also find the largest price jump: the 2022 Acura RDX Platinum Elite A-Spec carries a $58,000 price tag, up from $55,505 for the outgoing Platinum Elite.

A limited-availability Acura RDX PMC Edition returns this year sporting Long Beach Blue Pearl paint borrowed from the NSX supercar, and an orchid interior colourway. Acura says just 15 examples will be imported to Canada and priced at $61,500.

The quieter cabin comes courtesy of a revised electronic active sound control system that’s better at cancelling out road noise. Acura says there’s more now differentiation between the drive modes in the RDX’s integrated dynamics system, and the A-Spec Platinum Elite’s adaptive damper system promises a smoother ride in comfort mode and sharper responses in sport mode.

New this year, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration is standard across the board, and wireless charging is included in all but the base trim.

The 2022 Acura RDX’s mechanicals are unchanged: power comes from a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine (272 hp/280 lb-ft), a 10-speed transmission, and all SUVs come standard with all-wheel drive.
