2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV Debuts With up to 480 km of Range

The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV has just debuted as an affordable new fully electric crossover that promises up to 480 km of range.

With a starting price of $35,000 before destination, the Equinox EV will become one of the most affordable EVs on the market. Two main trims will be available with front-wheel drive as standard and optional AWD, and the top tier 3LT model comes with AWD as standard. Estimated range for the models will be between 400 and 480 km on a full charge. Front-wheel drive models will offer 210 horsepower and 242 lb-ft of torque, while AWD models will have 290 horsepower and 346 lb-ft. One pedal driving is also standard and the Equinox EV will be able to accept 150-kW fast DC charging.

The new Equinox EV’s design is a total overhaul of the current gas-powered Equinox, which is admittedly quite old. With a two-tone roof, slim headlights that expand across the entire front end, and an angular new shape, the EV looks sporty and futuristic, making its electric powertrain obvious to passers by.

One major highlight is that GM’s Super Cruise hands-free highway driver assistance system will be available, along with heated rear seats, welcome lighting, and a large touchscreen. Chevrolet also promises a roomy cabin with a maximum 1,614 L of cargo space and an accompanying app to help drivers plan their route and find charging stations. A long list of safety features including front and rear automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist is also included as standard. A head-up display, adaptive cruise control, rear camera mirror, and a surround-view monitor are also available.

So far, Chevy has unveiled three upcoming fully electric vehicles, the Silverado EV, Blazer EV, and now the Equinox EV. The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will be available in fall 2023. Expect more information and full lineup pricing to be available closer to its official launch.
