2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 Debuts as Third EV in Brand's Lineup

The 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 joins the automaker's lineup as its third fully electric vehicle, bolstering the already strong luxury compact crossover offering.

Joining the GV60 small crossover and Electrified G80 sedan, the Electrified GV70 will be offered in a single trim with a 77.4-kWh battery providing an estimated 380 km of range and motors on each axle enabling all-wheel drive. Total system output is rated at 429 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque with the ability to boost it for 10-second periods to 483 hp.

The Electrified GV70 is capable of accepting 350 kW (800V) DC fast charging that Genesis says can charge the SUV from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes. It will have vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, meaning drivers can use it as a mobile generator.

Visually, the electric GV70 will have a few design cues to differentiate it from its gas-powered sibling like white brake calipers, the hidden charge port in the mesh grille panel, unique 20-inch wheels, and a different rear bumper. Inside, many of the materials are made from recycled plastic bottles and nets.

As always, the Genesis Electrified GV70 will come standard with the brand's full suite of driver assistance and safety features, along with all the expected technology and comfort goodies.

Like many other automakers, Genesis has committed to having a fully electric lineup by 2030. More information including price, range, and availability for the 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 will be announced closer to its on-sale date in the first half of next year.
