Canadian Pricing Announced for 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70

Canadian pricing for the 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 has been announced, with the third EV from the brand arriving next month in a single trim priced at $84,000.

Genesis is repowering the GV70 with a pair of electric motors, one in the front and one in the rear to enable all-wheel drive. Output from the motors is 429 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, but the model has a trick up its sleeve. Just like in the GV60, Boost mode unlocks more power, 483 hp in total for up to 10 seconds at a time. The mode can be triggered again almost immediately.

The battery pack is a 77.4-kWh unit, capable of charging from 10 to 80 per cent in as little as 18 minutes on a 350-kW fast charger. The official range estimate for the Electrified GV70 is 383 km, putting it right between the two trims of the electric GV60.

As it has done with the Electrified G80 sedan, Genesis will offer the Electrified GV70 only in the loaded Prestige trim. Cabin highlights include Nappa leather and a microfibre suede headliner, along with the brand's long-distance comfy Ergo Motion seats. There is a 3D instrument cluster, premium audio system, 14.5-inch screen with navigation, and active noise control. Driver assistance features include Highway Driving Assist II with lane change assist and lane centring, forward collision avoidance, and more.

Cosmetic changes include the new closed-in grille and white brake callipers, with eight exterior paint choices offered.

The $84,000 price tag includes delivery and other dealer fees. It also includes Genesis at Home concierge service including complimentary scheduled maintenance.

While the model is $18,500 more than a gas-powered GV70 Prestige, that gas crossover is powered by the 300-hp 2.5L turbo four-cylinder. The most comparable gas GV70 is the 375-hp 3.5L GV70 Sport Plus, which rings the till at $77,500 and makes electrification a smaller price gap than first appears.
