Honda is updating its mid-sized Ridgeline pickup truck for 2024 by adding its off-road-ready Trailsport trim and an updated cabin with bigger screens and other comfort and convenience upgrades.
The Trailsport trim is Honda's way of meeting increasing consumer demand for trucks and SUVs that add off-road capability, even if it comes at the expense of on-road comfort. For the 2024 Ridgeline, the Trailsport package will include new 18-inch wheels wearing General Grabber all-terrain tires and steel underbody panels that protect the oil pan from rocks. Honda also changed the suspension tuning with new springs, dampers, and sway bars to increase off-road ride comfort and add suspension articulation.
To differentiate the Trailsport version of the Ridgeline, Honda has changed the tailgate. The new version gets the Ridgeline name in bold stamped letters across the truck's rear, something Honda hasn't done before.
Every 2024 Honda Ridgeline gets a new 9.0-inch centre touchscreen with a faster processor. The wireless versions of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are both now standard as well. A new 7.0-inch dashboard display is also standard, with the tachometer and vehicle information display on the digital side and a physical speedometer on the other.
The new centre console (the same one we've seen already in the 2023 Honda Pilot) has a larger armrest and more storage. Honda says the Ridgeline can now swallow a full-sized tablet in the center bin, while the storage tray ahead of the shifter can hold two smartphones side-by-side.
The 2024 Honda Ridgeline is set to start arriving at dealers this winter. It will be offered in Sport, Trailsport, and Black Edition models, meaning EX-L and Touring models disappear from the range. Honda did not announce pricing, but we expect an increase over the $47,435 starting point of the 2023 model.
