2022 Infiniti QX80 Gets All-New Infotainment, Starts from $82K

Infiniti has given its largest model some tweaks for 2022. This year, the 2022 Infiniti QX80 adds a widescreen infotainment system as well as wireless device charging. Infiniti has also changed some cosmetics, adding dark chrome and available 22-inch wheels.

The body-on-frame QX80 three-row SUV is the Infiniti version of the iconic (for the rest of the world) Nissan Patrol. This competitor to the Lexus LX has seating for loads, cargo space for more, and is powered by a 5.6L V8 making 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque.

The biggest change for 2022 is the new infotainment system, which now operates through a single 12.3-inch screen running the brand's InTouch software package. It's a big upgrade over last year's 8.0-inch screen that brings a new centre dashboard that drops the climate control touchscreen of last year in favour of analogue climate control buttons and knobs. The system adds navigation with lane guidance as standard as well as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Making using the wireless connectivity tech more convenient, Infiniti has made a wireless device charging pad standard, too.

Available new 22-inch dark finish alloys and dark chrome accents are mean to give the QX "commanding" details, Infiniti says.

The 2022 Infiniti QX80 starts from $81,695 and will arrive in late summer. That's an increase of $1,697 over the 2021 model. The ProActive trim adds those larger wheels as well as a smart rearview mirror, advanced driver assistance, adaptive lighting, and other tech and comfort features for $89,695.
