The Audi RS E-Tron GT electric sport sedan returns for its second year on the market, once again building on the base E-Tron GT model with extra performance to make it one of the fastest production cars in the world regardless of power source.

The sole update for 2023 is a body-coloured grille.

Available Trims

Audi offers the RS E-Tron GT in a single trim level. Power is from two electric motors – one front, one rear – that provide all-wheel traction.

Standard Features

Standard kit includes 20-inch wheels, auto-dimming/power-folding side mirrors, carbide brakes, air suspension, matrix LED headlights, passive keyless entry, and a power tailgate. Inside, you get a power-adjustable steering wheel, 14-way power heated front seats, heated rear seats, synthetic leather upholstery, an auto-dimming mirror, three-zone A/C, and ambient lighting. Infotainment duties are handled by a 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless phone charging, digital gauges, and a Bang & Olufsen stereo.

The driver safety assist suite comprises forward and reverse collision mitigation, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, remote park assist, 360-degree cameras, and a head-up display.

Key Options

A performance package adds all-wheel steering and carbon door trim.

The RS red design package brings a full leather interior, 18-way ventilated/massaging front seats, Nappa leather seating, and red trim elements. You can also get this bundle without the red trim.

Audi’s fuel consumption estimates are 3.0/2.9 Le/100 km (city/highway), and promised driving range is 373 km.

Competition

The RS Audi E-Tron GT competes with the Porsche Taycan, with which it also shares its underpinnings; other competitors are the Tesla Model S, Mercedes-Benz EQS, BMW i7, and Genesis Electrified G80.

Issue: On certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the battery modules could overheat and short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the high-voltage battery modules. To reduce the safety risk, Audi recommends that you set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 80% until the recall repairs are completed.

Issue: Under certain conditions, the plug for the 220 V compact vehicle charging cable could become damaged by the house power outlet. As a result, the cable could overheat while charging. Note: This recall only affects electric and plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) models. Safety Risk: Wiring that overheats could create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the vehicle charging cable. For unsold vehicles, the dealer will remove the charging cable before they are delivered to consumers.
