History/Overview
The G70 is Genesis's entry-level model and the first introduced following the brand's split from its Hyundai parent. It was added to the line as a 2019 model.
What's New / Key Changes from Last Year
The Genesis G70 is mostly carried over from 2019. The 2.0T Prestige AWD trim sees all-season tires replace last year's summer rubber. A new 3.3T Prestige trim replaces 2019's 3.3T Dynamic, and it loses its engine idle stop-and-go system. Finally, the 3.3T Sport model gets a power trunk lid.
Genesis says the new 3.3T Prestige model is a response to customer demand for a loaded V6 model without the sport package.
Available Trims
A turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine powers 2.0T Advanced AWD, Sport RWD, Elite AWD and Prestige AWD trims. Motivation for 3.3T Prestige AWD and 3.3T Sport AWD trims comes from a 3.3L turbo V6. The 2.0T Sport RWD model comes with a six-speed manual transmission. All other G70 models get an eight-speed automatic.

2.0T Advanced AWD trim includes halogen headlights with high beam assist, LED daytime running lights and LED taillights, 18-inch wheels, chrome exterior trim, heated side mirrors, heated leather-trimmed steering wheel, 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster display, LED front map and rear reading lights, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, lane change assist, rear cross traffic warning, driver attention warning, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, electric parking brake, sunroof, passive keyless entry with hands-free trunk, 12-way power driver's seat, six-way manual front passenger seat, artificial leather upholstery, heated front seats and a six-speaker stereo with 8.0-inch touchscreen display.
2.0T Sport RWD gets 19-inch wheels with staggered tires, dark chrome exterior trim, LED headlights, a sport appearance package, aluminum interior trim, head-up display, manual parking brake, Brembo brakes, limited slip differential, standard cruise control, rear parking sensors, 16-way driver's seat with memory, Nappa leather upholstery and a 15-speaker sound system.
2.0T Elite AWD builds on the Advanced trim, reverting to 18-inch wheels but adding power steering column adjustments, 12-way power front passenger seat, genuine (non-Nappa) leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and navigation.
2.0T Prestige AWD and 3.3T Prestige AWD trims bring adaptive headlights, 19-inch wheels, head-up display, front parking sensors, wireless smartphone charging, multi-view exterior camera system, power trunklid, 14-way power driver's seat and Nappa leather.
The 3.3T Sport AWD package gets a limited-slip rear differential, Brembo brakes, adaptive suspension, sport appearance package and a 16-way driver's seat.
There are no options offered beyond the G70's various trim packages.
Fuel Economy
Genesis's fuel consumption estimates for the G70 are 12.8/8.5 L/100 km (city/highway) for the 2.0T engine with RWD and manual transmission, and 11.5/8.7 with AWD and the automatic. V6/automatic cars are rated 13.3/9.5 L/100 km.
Competition
Genesis conceived the G70 as a competitor for well-known compact sedans like the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Infiniti Q50 and Acura TLX.
