History/Overview
The Genesis G80 is a mid-size luxury sedan that was born as the Hyundai Genesis in 2009. Hyundai redesigned the car in 2015 and it made the transition to the G80 unchanged when the Genesis brand split from Hyundai in 2017.

For 2020, the Genesis G80 is carried over almost unchanged save for the deletion of a CD/DVD player from all trim lines.
Available Trims
Genesis sells the G80 in 3.8 Technology AWD, 3.3T Sport and 5.0 Ultimate AWD trims. The 3.8 Technology uses a 3.8L V6, the 3.3T Sport gets a turbo 3.3L V6 and the 5.0 Ultimate is powered by a 5.0L V8.
Standard Features
3.8 Technology AWD trim comes with bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, 18-inch wheels, heated steering wheel with power adjustments, open-pore wood trim, 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster display, head-up display, LED interior lighting, driver attention alert, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, lane change assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, panoramic sunroof, passive keyless entry, hands-free power trunk open/close, auto-dimming rearview mirror, 16-way power driver's seat, 12-way power front passenger seat, Nappa leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, 9.2-inch touchscreen with navigation, and a 17-speaker stereo system.
5.0 Ultimate trim adds full LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, microsuede headliner and a card-type proximity key.
3.3T Sport is equipped similarly to the 5.0 Ultimate, but gets 16-way power sport seats.
There are no options beyond the features included in the various trim packages.
Fuel Economy
Genesis's fuel consumption estimates for the G80 are 13.4/9.6 L/100 km (city/highway) with the 3.8L engine, 13.8/9.7 for the Sport's 3.3L turbo V6 and 15.6/10.4 L/100 km for the 5.0L V8.
Competition
The Genesis G80 exists to give the brand a car to go up against the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CTS, Lincoln MKZ, Jaguar XF, Lexus ES, Buick LaCrosse and Infiniti Q70.
