Jeep Gladiator
Model Overview
The aggressively named Gladiator is Jeep's mid-size pickup truck. Gladiator borrows its name from a past Jeep pickup model, and steals its underpinnings from the Wrangler compact SUV. Like the Wrangler, the Gladiator is an off-road champ, though its extra size makes it a less extreme mudding machine. Gladiator's other compromise is a relatively shallow cargo bed. Still, few other small pickups will go where this one can.

On certain vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, a problem with the gear sensor (AGS) could cause the rearview camera not to work and the backup lamps not to turn on when backing up.
Safety Risk:
A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. Additionally, backup lamps that don't turn on could cause a person not to recognize that the vehicle is backing. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash.

If you shift to reverse while the computer is resetting, the rearview camera image will not appear on the display. On certain vehicles, the rear driveshaft joint may have been built without grease. As a result, the joint could fail and cause the driveshaft to detach from the vehicle. If the vehicle was in rear-wheel drive mode, this would cause a loss of power to the drive wheels.
