History/Overview
Land Rover introduced the Evoque in 2012 in a bid to expand its reach into the market for subcompact luxury crossovers designed for city life more than off-road adventure. A second-generation model arrived in 2020 with a similar shape but notable technical updates.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2022, Land Rover has dropped the P250 R-Dynamic HSE trim from the lineup, but adds a P250 Bronze Collection package and a new P300 HST model. Also, all Evoque models are now fitted with a power tailgate, wireless phone charging, and passive keyless entry.
Available Trims
Land Rover offers the Evoque P250 in S, SE, SE R-Dynamic, SE Bronze Collection, and P300 HST trim levels. All use a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine, nine-speed transmission, and AWD. The P300 designation indicates a more powerful engine with mild hybrid assist.
Standard Features
The Land Rover Evoque P250 S comes with 18-inch wheels, power-folding mirrors with driver’s side auto-dimming, LED headlights, power tailgate, power/heated front seats, heated steering wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirror, two-zone A/C, 10-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging, and passive keyless entry.
Safety items include rain-sensing wipers, forward collision mitigation, driver condition monitor, lane keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition.
P250 SE adds auto-leveling headlights with automatic high beams, 20-inch wheels, digital gauges, blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, dual-screen infotainment, and a clear exit monitor. R-Dynamic models add trim-specific cosmetic cues and unique wheels.
The P250 Bronze Collection gains a panoramic sunroof, fog lights, ash wood veneer, and a digital rearview mirror.
Finally, P300 HST trim gets red brake calipers, suede steering wheel and headliner, Meridian stereo, and an interactive driver display.
Key Options
A driver assist package adds blind spot assist, clear exit monitor, adaptive cruise, and rear cross-traffic alert. You can also order a simpler bundle that leaves out adaptive cruise.
A cold weather pack brings a heated windshield and washer jets, and headlight washers. In the convenience package, you get a hands-free tailgate, electric steering wheel adjustments, cargo net, and a weatherproof activity key.
Evoque’s Tech package adds a head-up display, digital mirror, dual-screen infotainment, and an interactive driver display.
Fuel Economy
Land Rover’s fuel consumption estimates are 11.9/8.8 L/100 km (city/highway) for P250 models, and 11.3/9.1 L/100 km in P300 form.
Competition
Shop the Land Rover Evoque against the BMW X2, Cadillac XT4, Lexus UX, and the Volvo XC40.
