2006 Buick Allure

by Zonetrap on 12-11-2012
Great mid size car
I have owned this vehicle since fall of 2007. It was new when purchased and have over 210,000 km. on it presently. I have had no major repairs other than tires and tuneup. I have serviced this vehicle as per recommendations and most of these km are highway miles. I find the Allure to be pleasant to drive and very dependable. It handles well in traffic and provides safe and comfortable transportation. I would recommend this car to anyone.

2005 Buick Allure

Love my blue!!
This car looks so sleek with the tinted windows and silver trim. From first sight I fell in love.

Once I began to drive the car and learn the features, I knew Buick was a car that I would always love.

This car has a delayed locking system. As a single parent, this feature makes it more convenient to get a child out of the car without having to worry about fumbling with the keys to lock the car. With a simple press of the lock button while exiting, a timer would allow me enough time to retrieve my child from the back seat and walk away while the car locks itself.

Not to mention the remote starter for those cold winter days.

I love this car.

2006 Buick Allure

A comfortable, reliable, nice-looking car.
I have a black Buick Allure and it is the best car I have had. It has amazing fuel economy, for a large car, and, although the car is 6 years old, it has required very little work. I would certainly purchase another Allure, in the future.

Decent ride
I have owned this car for two years now and by and large have been satisfied with it. I was told by a trusted source that it does well on the highway/ gets good highway millege and having an hours commute have to agree with this source. Thats why I gave fuel economy only three out of five stars, it's a big car and purchased more for comfort then fuel economy. The shocks are excellent on the more potholed backroads highways. A passenger once described it as riding in a boat, a pretty fair example. The tie rods seem to be the only weak spot so far. As was asked by another buick owner if I experienced a shuddering going through the whole frame of the car, I told him yes I had, it was the tie rods which had to be replaced after only a year of ownership. If you don't mind gassing up more then a smaller car its a safe bet for a long distance driver.

A Top performer in a mid size car
This vehicle has a 3.8 engine with high torque on aceleration from 0 to 80 KM and more. It has excellent stability on the road for handling with a smooth ride for a mid size car. Great interior with woodgrain accents on the SLT model. With rich leather heated seats as an option it is great for a cold weather morning when the seats are like iceThe SLT has a consul with the gear shifter on the consul. The interior design will carry 5 passengers with 3 in the rear and 2 in front.Highly recommended for a mid size car with most of the toys of a more expensive car

2005 Buick Allure

Trim: CXS platinum Package
by 05_car on 10-15-2012
Exceptional car !
Absolutely the best car I have ever owned! The outstanding performance and terrific comfort of this car is far better then other cars I have owned such as Cadillac's and Lincoln's. This particular CXS has the Platinum package which provide this with the best drive train in GM's stable of cars. It is the same engine transmission package that GM uses in the 2005 Cadillac CTS.
Since I have owned this car I have never had any problems of any kind with this vehicle and would very highly recommend Buick's products to anyone.

Excellent car but not always cheap to fix
Owned the car since brand new. I have 220,000 km on it at this point and its still running strong, little major problems with it.

Engine and drive train are perfect. However I had to replace the water pump twice and the power steering pump once. It overheated twice as a result of the water pump failing. I have replaced both front wheel bearing hubs at least 3 times and CV shaft and control arm assemblies at least once.

The interior is in great shape considering the age, the leather has stood the test of time, no cracks or tears. All of the electronics are working but the finish on some of the buttons is smearing off and some of button-lights are also burnt out. The biggest issue is that the car wont start after fueling unless you stand on the gas, which could be a faulty EVAP sensor.

The car is extremely comfortable, has plenty of power and looks great. It has been extremely reliable when in good repair, but has cost quite a bit in repairs over the years.

Comfortable, Economical Car
Although some people may associate Buick with the older crowd, I am only 36 and I LOVE my Allure. In my business, there is a lot of driving involved, and the 3.8L engine is super reliable, and has lots of pep, especially lots of passing power. I actually really like the styling- mine is black, with the chrome package, and when it's all cleaned up, it looks very classy. Understated class, without being too ostentatious. Would certainly buy one again. Mine has rolled over 200,000kms recently. Only thing I've had to do is water pump, tires, brakes, and one wheel hub. Very, very reliable; maintenance prices are reasonable too, parts seem readily available. I will definitely buy a Buick for my next new vehicle-- probably a Regal Turbo.

Smooth and comfortable
It has been a real pleasure to drive this car for many years. It was (and stil is) really smooth and confortable for long distance driving. It also had a lot of space to carry luggages and sport equipments. So far, it is an excellent car, specially during winter time because of it's road holding.
