Chevrolet Malibu 1998Change

well the biggest problem i have with this car is the anti theft device because it seems to think that i am stealing it all of the time while my key is in the ignition. to get it fixed costs 500 to 600 $ and i dont think that the car is worth that. other then that i have not had too many problems with it.

great car, has it chevy problems like gas gadge but other than that everything is great! i bought the car 7 months ago and it has run stong all the time. it has some small isues but this is becuse it is 19 years old what old car doesnt have any problems at all, if you are looking for a sedan i would pick chevy over ford anyday (i wouldent touch ford with a 10 foot poll)

It lasted a little under ten years for me. And when I say lasted, I mean it felt like-new. Then everything started getting messed up, but I guess that's the way of all cars once they reach a certain age.

Anyway, during its good years I never regretted this purchase. I even saw people checking my car out, which was a nice ego boost since I was used to driving muscle cars.

this was my first malibu owned it for years a solid reliable car i had no issues with it thats why i bought the maxx after this one.

just bought this car used has all hiway miles on it and runs very nice and is good on gas....no rust or major problems for a car with 280,000 km's

- infamous 3100 V6 engine intake manifold gasket leaks
- brake rotors warp easily
- wheel bearing issues/abs sensor issues
- decent power with the V6 engine
- once you fix the leaking intake manifold gasket, the engine is reliable
- good styling inside and outside
- ergonomic interior with decent space and good comfort
- won Motor Trend's 1997 Car of the Year award
- most of the minor issues were fixed in model year 2000 (chalk it up to teething problems for a new model)
