2008 BMW X3

Fun and comfort
This vehicle is a dream to drive, comfortable and exhilarating fun... in all weather conditions. BMW has a winner with this small SUV. Loaded with features and i would recommend the Heating Steering Wheel to everyone. This car is a winner!!

2008 BMW X3

Great vehicle. Highly recommended.
I bought my 2008 X3 second hand at 60,000km's and I love it. I feel spoiled every time I drive it. It currently has 100,000km's and nothing has gone wrong with it. The reliability seems rock solid.
The performance is excellent for an SUV. It can out handle and out break both my previous cars, a Mazda3 and a Mustang GT. The ride is smooth but you can still feel the road through the car, which makes you feel more in control and connected to the "driving experience". Fuel economy is great for an SUV, but it runs on premium gas.
I love the timeless look of BMW's and the interior is well designed as well for the most part.

Likes:
Driving feel & handling
Heated seats
Heated steering wheel
Panoramic sunroof
Auto-darkening mirrors
Audio system
Oil changes every 25,000km's
Power and smoothness of the engine
No rust

Don't like:
The MP3 input jack is behind the center armrest
Dated plastic center console
Automatic climate control system
Needs more cup holders

I recommend the BMW X3 to anyone who likes sporty driving and needs to buy an SUV.

2010 BMW X3

Value Base BMW
My wife & I looked at small SUVs from Honda, Toyota, etc. It turns out that this particular year/trim combo (only available for 1 year in Canada) was priced around the same as those well-equipped Makes. So what you get is the BMW badge, styling, and road handling. What you don't get are creature comforts that you take for granted in many non-premium vehicles. So if you yearn for a BMW badge at an affordable price, this could be what you're looking for; but if you expect well appointed equipment & amenities, this may not be for you.

Not as good as I thought
This is my first car in my life. It does not perform as I expected. In my mind a BMW should have done better.

Not as refined as one would expect for $50,000+ SUV
Overall this SUV is well built. The engine smooth as silk, However the transmission is twitchy. Does not shift well at low speeds. Had the transmission reprogrammed several times but the issue always returns. Not an uncommon complaint. Dealership explains this is normal.
Ride is also harsh on city streets. Highway driving is a pure pleasure.

All other small issues have been promptly repaired free of charge.
Broken cup holder
New driver side window motor
Coolant leak
New shift lever

SUV is currently leaking around drivers side door. I will have this fixed next time I am at the dealership.

2006 BMW X3

Trim: Premium Package

My first AWD and love it!
I bought this car right after having a rather serious accident on a snowy highway. At the time I was driving a front-wheel drive sedan and it was time to get an AWD that would allow me to feel safe but still be comfortable, roomy and fuel efficient.

This truck passed all those tests! I bought the vehicle when it was 4 years old from a dealership. It still had the remainder of the full warranty and I was able to get a few cosmetic items fixed. The leather seats are amazing for long rides, the panorama sunroof makes it a pleasure to drive in our dreary Vancouver weather. It also has a great turn radius and it's as fuel efficient as the old car it replaced! Front and back proximity sensors as well as the tilting right-hand side mirror are great for parking. Little things like the volume of the radio increases when the engine gets louder, secure nets all over the car for storage and the mirror that lights up when you pull it down, makes it all a better experience.

My only concern has been in the center and side console elements. Some of the items like the cup holder and power window buttons are covered in this rubberized overlay that after a while will start to peel. I had them replaced on warranty when I first got it and now, after 2 years, they are peeling again even though I am very gentile knowing there is this defect. :(

Awesome
I drove from Toronto to Quebec city and stayed there for three days (I mean drove in the city) and came back, just only I spent $200 for Gas
I drove from Quebec city to Toronto directly without any stop
and I did not feel any pain or tiredly
It's an awesome car
The interior design in the middle does not have enough space to put everything, but it's not a big deal

X3 is good performance and value
This has been a worry free car for me. Not a lot of km's but no mechanical problems, has guts galore as a 3.0L and would definitely buy it again.

Good SUV
Bought this SUV for my wife recently and she really enjoys it. She feels safe in the snow, which was really important as we are new to Canada and not great drivers in the snow. Fantastic power and great handling for a SUV.
