Kia Sorento 2002-2016Change

Kia put a new 4 cyl engine in the 2013 model and it could not pass emission standards in Canada so to "fix" this they turned back the timing 2 degrees to eject the still burning fuel into the exhaust system which increases the temp in the catalytic converter which allows it to pass emission standards but makes it shake like a diesel and robs performance. Kia has admitted to the problem but say they can fix it. Their fix is to increase the idle RPM which makes it feel like it is shaking less but even further erodes the performance. The gas mileage on mine with 24,000KM is almost twice what they advertise. It is horrible AND despite two "fixes" it still shakes. Kia Canada has refused my request for compensation or to fix it properly and now denies there is any problem with it (despite internal service memos which clearly state the problems outlined above). I am very disappointed with KIA, If you test drive on, when it warms up turn off the fan, come to a complete stop with your foot on the brake and the vehicle in Drive. with the brake still on go from D to N and back again. The vehicle will shake so bad you cannot help but wonder how long it will actually hold together. It is very uncomfortable to drive and I cannot afford to operate it any longer. The problem is these are also used by rental car fleets and now the used vehicle market is used flooded with them so I will have to take a huge loss getting rid of it. I will NEVER buy a Kia EVER again.

Spacious, Reliable, and Highly Manouverable. Amazing in the snow with winter rated tires and four wheel drive. Great in town, on the freeway, or camping.

I LOVE this SUV. I have owned several luxury cars and the Sorento EX is in their class. Kia stepped up with all the bells and whistles. Only disappointment is fuel consumption.....could be better. Very comfortable & great road handling. So far its been very reliable.

well where do i start?
we got the 4cyl and the reported mileage is far from actual!

the sirius radio cuts out all the time it has been to the dealer 5 times now and they replaced the radio and antenna and are telling me that i have to deal with it because they cant find the problem.

the back seats are hard to fold down. seems like the handles are not installed proper and my wife cant even fold them down even for me i have to rock the seat back and forth to fold it down.

motor is loud and i can hear in the cab mostly on acceleration

pillars cause a good blind spot front and back

please look around b4 you buy.

This is a wonderful car for an average-sized family. We got ours done with leather seats, making it completely spill-proof. The panoramic sunroof is a hit with the kids, and the built-in navigation and sound system is just great!

My KIA has been very good to me, I treat like a baby, I wash it every few days and it hasn;t shown a lot of deterioration. (Touch wood). My tire size seems like a hard one to find, and in most cases is a special order. He dosen;t like going up big hills and in some cases I smell something burning.
I would still recommend the sorento to anyone. Thank You.

this car is horrible it cant do anything good its always broken down and it cant do anything good the olnly good thing is robbers wont want tos steal it

Very poorly engineered SUV, incredibly sub-par gas mileage.

All kinds of mechanical, and fit & finish issues right from the start but particularly after the warranty runs out. Crankshaft pulley bolt shearing is a common and expensive problem for this year; and Kia Canada will not take responsibility.

Not worth the headaches and hassle, no matter what the price.

i love my kia sorrento, it's great and drives smooth. theres alot of room in the trunk for you to put stuff in and great spaces for car seats.itsa great car to drive, but like any suv, it eats alot of gas.

only thing i don't like is the delayed down shifting. you can tell where Kia cut corners to come in at one of the cheapest suv ......
insulation---- the most nosiest passenger compartment. Pricing any other manufacture with same options tack on at least $7000.I have 2 kids and a wife that speaks her mind...........Road noise is the least of my worries

Rough ride due to the heavy frame and firm suspension. Great off-road capabilities. Fairy reliable, but horrible on gas.

I have had this SUV for 2 years now and i haven't had any serious problems with it.
Very comfortable and reliable car and amazing stability on snow, never regret this purchase and will keep going with Kia

For the price, this vehicule is a perfect choice to make, if you consider a car between 23 000 to 30 000$ you wont regret it, this is the perfect SUV for the quebec road, and nid de poule of montreal loll I really like it,,and I give a 5 stars to my dealers Kia in trois rivieres

I have a Kia Sorento 2007. At first I was skeptical about buying the car but it was a very good choice. The ride is very good. It's a smooth ride and you can barely feel the road. Starts up no problem even when its -40 (Canadian winters). No problems so far. It's a little on the fuel consuming side. Not as efficient as a normal sedan car since its a 3.5L engine but well most SUVs aren't fuel efficient. The interior is really good too. Very comfortable seats. The seat heatings works wonders when you need it in the mornings. Overall a very solid car.

Really like this vehicle. It has been very reliable, and the few issues I have had have been caused by me directly. It is fairly fuel efficient for its size and has good power to tow a boat or small camper. I will continue to drive it for several years and the resale has stayed relatively close to the same as when I bought it a year ago.

We have had 2 Kia Sorentos now wouldn't think of buying anything else. Love our local dealership they are helpful and efficient. When looking for a new car we never go anywhere else.

Great car for work and for the road off city. Big inside let's you bring a lot of stuff everywhere with you without big problems and harming the car. Nice design is also important for work with your clients.

Kia sorento is real a good vehicle.It is very safe especially for my kids.There's enough place to carry more stuff at the back.It is very easy to drive.The kia sorento bought, has no sunroof as it we'll become more expensive to buy.

The 2.4 4 cyl. is not a powerhouse, but the AWD is fabulous on the backroads and in winter. I do have mine on studded winter tires and it handles with ease. Rear wiper controls should be somewhere else. Folding down the back seats allows me to move a queen sized headboard and I can also take it camping and sleep in the back which makes it a true utility vehicle.

I love my Sorento. It looks nice, Drives well and is very spacious. I don't feel like I am driving a little car, which makes me feel safer having my 5 year old in the car. I have owned many makes and models, this is by far my favorite. The Sorento is my third KIA.

Really impressed with the performance and reliability of the Sorento. Great acceleration into traffic with the V6 engine. Fuel economy is a lot better than expected. 3rd row is alwat popular with the children but does not leave Mom driving a minivan.

Our family loves our Kia Sorento. It's All Wheel drive is excellent for the hilly, rocky terrain that we live in. Excellent in the snow and on gravel roads. definately will purchase another when the time comes.

We've loved driving this for the past 18+ months. Fantastic family car. Fits the stroller and more easily.

The general shape and appearance shows all the effort lead to this beautiful piece,however,could have used more artistic touch on the back side.Interior design is perfect,seats are comfortable enough,fair space for passengers.

This is OK... not as great as the newer SUVs, but average for a normal family size. It consumes lots of our fuel. The $30 gasoline can be consumed for a week only, and we drive less than 5km everyday.
