Memory Lane: 2011 Mazda RX-8 Last of the Rotaries

Back in 2003 Mazda unveiled its successor to the iconic RX-7. Powered by Mazda’s Wankel rotary, this new sports car came with four doors – kind of – four seats and exotic styling.

The RX-8 felt the pinch though, and by 2012 emissions controls and declining interest had conspired to consign the triangle piston to the rubbish heap. Fortunately, Mazda Canada committed one to their rolling museum – giving us a rare chance to experience a true modern classic.
