Jaguar's Latest Is a 575 Hp, 300 Km/h Sedan

Jaguar has just announced their most powerful XJ ever. The XJR575 makes - you guessed it - 575 hp, and can hit 300 km/h. So to show off, Jaguar did the world's fastest interview.

The XJR575 is the new flagship XJ. It has a supercharged 5.0L V8 that makes 575 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. That's 25 hp up on the current XJR. The rear-drive sedan can hit 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.4 seconds and reach that 300 km/h top speed in just 44 seconds.

Letting you know which model you're looking at, the 575 has a unique rear spoiler, side sills, and front bumber. That front bumper gets bigger lower air intakes with gloss black surrounds. Twin hood scoops also let you know what you're looking at.

Inside, the XJR575 gets unique sill plates, as well as special 575 embroidery on the seats. You can pick from a black or ivory interior. Two special exterior paint choices are on the menu, velocity blue and satin corris grey.

In the "world's fastest interview," Jag Production Studio Director Wayne Burgess calls it "formidable, fast, and furious," and "an iron fist in a satin glove." He also looks pretty nervous for the latter half of the run.

The XJR575 should be available later this year, along with the rest of the 2018 XJ lineup.
