Canada Gets Gran Turismo Sport Championship

Gran Turismo Sport competition is coming to Canada on the big screen next year. The fastest virtual drivers will compete for cash and prizes in the WorldGaming Canadian Championship Series.

Anyone with a PS4 and Gran Turismo Sport can enter. Four qualifiers will be held in January and February in the game. Register for an account, set your fastest time on one of four tracks, and enter to win.

The top 10 drivers from each qualifier will enter stage two. In the second stage, the top 40 drivers will be assigned to one of four heats. Each heat will be on multiple tracks with points awarded based on position. From those 40, the top 16 will make it to the final round.

The Pfaff GT Sport Championships is the final round, and it will be broadcast live from the Cineplex Colossus Cinemas in Vaughan, ON. Drivers will race in two semi-final heats. The pack will be thinned to eight, then those drivers will compete in another multi-track series to determine the champion.

The series is organized by WorldGaming and presented by Canadian automotive dealer group Pfaff, as well as PlayStation 4. The winner gets $8,000, a trip to the Grand Prix of Long Beach, and the carbon fibre rear wing from a Porsche RSR racer.

Qualifying starts January 13, and the final will be held February 25.
