Subaru has just priced the all-new 2019 Subaru Forester, starting from $27,995.
The Forester is all-new this year, joining the Impreza on the new Subaru Global Platform. Though like the current Impreza, you might have a tough time telling it apart from the current model. The new platform means a model that Subaru says has a more spacious interior thanks to slightly larger dimensions. Though they aren't saying yet just how much bigger it will be. The automaker also says that it will have more high-grade interior materials and a wider and more versatile cargo area.
All Foresters get a new engine, a 2.5L boxer-four that offers direct injection and standard automatic engine stop-start. Subaru's all-wheel drive system is standard, but this year so is a CVT: the manual transmission is gone from the Forester.
The base 2.5i trim offers automatic climate control as well as LED headlights. A Convenience trim adds 17-inch alloys, power-adjustable driver seat, leather-wrapped wheel, dual-zone climate control, and a 6.3-inch multifunction display on the dash. Subaru's EyeSight with adaptive cruise, pre-collision braking and lane-departure warning is optional and includes push-button start and reverse automatic braking.
Touring trim adds EyeSight and push-start as standard, along with high-beam assist and a power tailgate. It also has a larger sunroof.
Sport trim comes with EyeSight, and adds LED fog lights, steering responsive headlights and special grille, spoiler, and dark metallic 18-inch wheels. Inside, Sport offers orange interior accents and stitching and the infotainment system grows to 8.0 inches; rear passengers get more USB ports and A/C ducts.
Limited adds 18-inch alloys and a premium grille. Silver and chrome trim sets Limited apart from other models. Leather is standard along with a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats. The infotainment system adds navigation and an eight-speaker Harman Kardon stereo.
Finally, a new Premier trim tops the range. It has more exclusive trim outside along with brown leather upholstery, a power passenger seat, and DriverFocus distraction mitigation.
The 2019 Subaru Forester goes on sale this fall.
