At the end of last month, we drove Acura's refreshed for 2019 NSX. Now the automaker has released a price to go with the chassis upgrades and revised tuning. And despite the upgrades, the price stays the same. With some high-dollar extra equipment now standard.
Acura's 2019 NSX upgrades include chassis modifications that the automaker says make the NSX even more responsive. Those include larger sway bars front and rear, along with stiffer rear toe link bushings. Even parts like the rear hubs have been changed, making them six percent stiffer.
Along with the physical changes, Acura has changed the software calibration of the active magnetic dampers, power steering, and stability control to take advantage of the changes. New Continental SportContact 6 tires were developed exclusively for the NSX, though a track-biased Pirelli option is still available.
The hybrid drivetrain itself is unchanged. It still uses a twin-turbo V6 to make 500 hp and adds an electric motor to bump that by 47 hp. Then the electric motor pair in the front that takes the total to 573. But it's had some software changes that Acura says help improve dynamics of the car.
Acura says that the changes add up to less. That's nearly two seconds less per lap around the Suzuka Circuit in Japan.
Exterior changes include a new body-colour front grille and high-gloss trim for the surround, air intake mesh, and rear bumper outlets. Inside, it can be had in indigo blue. The power sports seats that were an $1,800 option are now standard for 2019. If you want the lighter manual seats they're still available as a no-cost option. Navigation, ELS Studio premium audio, and front and rear parking sensors are also now standard meaning that the hold-steady base price is probably a better value than before. Assuming you wanted the luxury features on your supercar.
Also new for 2019 is that stunning Thermal Orange Pearl paint option. It pays tribute to the orange-liveried Acura sports racers of the last 30 years. The optional carbon ceramic brakes can have their callipers the same colour.
