The Mitsubishi Mirage, which will be Canada's cheapest car once the Nissan Micra is discontinued at the end of this year, has received a number of updates for 2020.
The most prominent change applied to the refreshed Mirage is the large new front grille, which takes inspiration from the 2020 Mitsubishi RVR crossover and gives the hatchback a bit more road presence. The rear end has also been restyled, with Mitsubishi squaring off the bumper and integrating new LED tail lamps for a wider, more stable appearance. A new 15-inch alloy wheel is also available for 2020, along with two new exterior colours: White Diamond and Sand Yellow.
Moving inside, the Mirage has received redesigned front arm rests, various soft touch surfaces, and a new carbon-pattern trim for the control panel and window switch panel. Mitsubishi says upper trim levels will also come equipped with patterned seats with fabric centers, synthetic leather sides and different piping and stitching. A new 7-inch display screen with Apple CarPlay support has also been added.
Mitsubishi Canada has confirmed the restyled 2020 Mirage hatchback will be coming here, however, the G4 sedan variant has been discontinued. The automaker has yet to make an announcement with regard to pricing and availability, though we expect it to go on sale sometime early next year (timing hasn't been officially confirmed) and to carry a similar price tag to the 2019 model, which starts at $12,300.
