New 2021 Audi S3 Lands with 305-HP 2.0L Turbo

Audi unveiled its new 2021 A3 Sedan last month and now it has pulled the proverbial veil from the new S3 performance model.

The 2021 Audi S3 will be offered in both hatchback and sedan variants, although it's very likely that we'll only get the sedan here in Canada. The hatch and sedan are mechanically identical, though, both featuring a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine producing 305 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. With a seven-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, the sedan will rocket from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and has an electronically governed top speed of 249 km/h.

When the going gets twisty, drivers will have four-link independent rear suspension and a progressive steering rack to rely on. An S sport suspension system will also be available, which adds oil valve dampers that can be adjusted on the fly. Standard 18-inch alloy wheels and slotted brake discs sit at all four corners, with larger 19-inch alloy wheels available as an option. Customers can also order the brake calipers in either red or black.

Inside, the 2021 Audi S3 gets a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, along with a 10.1-inch touch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buyers can also fork out some extra cash for the larger 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit display. Aluminum or available carbon fibre trim and standard S3 badges help to remind cabin occupants that this is a sportier take on the compact luxury sedan.

Deliveries of the 2021 Audi S3 are expected to begin in Germany in October. It's not clear when the vehicle may arrive at Canadian dealers, but the European market launch usually comes well ahead of the North American launch for many European vehicles, so we don't expect to see the new S3 on Canadian roads until some time in 2021 at the earliest. Prices for the 2021 Audi S3 Sedan will start at 47,179 euros in Germany, equivalent to roughly $73,900 CAD.
