not a vehicle I would had picked
this was my first vehicle since I had my license. I had nothing but problems with my patriot. I wouldn’t had picked this for my first vehicle . It gets me where I want to go. I find it to small. It doesn’t have enough room for me or my wife or doesn’t have enough horsepower. The engine only has a 4 cylinder in it. this vehicle has given me and my wife but nothing but problems.

Great in winter
Car has been amazing, 0 outside cabin noise, great in winter. 4 wheel drive can be accessed at any speed. Never any accidents and always maintained. Car was bought in Saskatchewan and safetied in Alberta, vehicle was meticulously inspected. Comfortable seats for those long trips, great speakers and lots of power to pass on highway.

Great car
Very reliable, fast and nimble, this Jeep is better in snow and ice than my 4wd truck, impossible to get stuck in normal conditions, even during storms.

A must see car before you make your decision..
I know it has a rebuilt title, even I was skeptical when I bought this gas sipper home.
But, it is so convenient and awesome to ride that you would want to take it everywhere - grocery shopping, football match, friends, pubs, etc.
It is a gas sipper - this SUV runs 475kms on a single tank which is approx $50
Yes, this is a base model with no whims and fancies, but this is the car that anyone would want to buy. Picture this - would you spend 10k on a 2008 or older car which will give you lots of maintenance in the future or this beast which has a latest 2010 engine and is totally a gas sipper due to its manual transmission.

Terrific first car
i bought this as my first car and its amazing, comfortable, cheap on gas at 130/L not even $60 to fill the tank. The flashlight that comes with it has come in handy many times too. Very simple electronic userface and awesome that it also comes with a 12v plug right in the centre console. Recommended for first car buyers, or someone looking for a good budget car which is good on gas yet stylish too

comfortable and reliable
I love this vehicle, it has AWD with 4x4. I'm very comfortable when I'm driving. I wish I would do more millage for the full tank of gas. I would get 450km/ fill up.

Lots of Fun
It has been very reliable and fun to drive. I purchased it when I had an hour long commute between cities in order to get to work. It holds the road very well, has plenty of power and the leather seats are very comfortable. The fuel economy for this class of vehicle is extremely good (I usually got 37-38 miles per gallon on the highway) and it drove without a fault for us on trips to the coast.
We simply needed to upgrade to a pickup truck. In preparation to selling, I had it dealer inspected and any warranty issues dealt with. I've installed winter tires that have been used one season (the all-season's come with it), and put in a new windshield. It looks great, is in immaculate condition and should be a worry-free ride for whomever purchases it.

Great vehicle
This isn't a real Jeep but it handles really well, can tow a decent sized trailer, gets great fuel economy for what it is, and comfortable with 4 adults, what more can you ask for at the price point? Much better cost wise than any other compact SUV you can buy, would definitely buy one again.

My review
It's been a great car. I like that you can turn the 4WD on and off so you can save gas. I rarely use it but on those really snowy days, it comes in handy.

Jeep Patriot Very Dependable as well as stylish
I love the Jeep Patriot for the ease of handling and the gas economy, what I don't really like is the deep wells for the floor and the cup holder that is permantly afixed to the floor in the back seat. It handles very well on ice and in snow, I have only had to use the 4 wheel drive a couple of times but this worked very well.
Overall I would purchase this vehicle again.

I Love My Patriot
It is reliable and fun to drive.
Tough well made and will likely last a long time with good maintenance.
No more changing tires for snow I have off road tires what a bonus they are.
Lot of different rosad driving conditions are covered by my four wheel drive plus a skid control.
I am really happy with my Jeep.

Jeep Patriot
2010 Patriot - You must get past the CVT transmission. Once used to that it is not a poor vehicle. Had the tranny replaced at 30K, fortunately still on warranty. Rear end slides out in 4x4 which is a little unexpected but it is a light vehicle, compromise for decent fuel economy. After two winters, the belts start to whine when warming it up in winter, a little annoying. As well, drips from the overflow of the coolant makes for a bit of mess on the driveway. Somewhat petty com[plaints to this point but I am not sure about longterm reliability. Bought it because it had not changed for a few years and you would hope that such manufacture defect would of been weeded out by then. Comfortable ride and the 4x4 is good due to the on the fly real 4 wheel drive rather than all wheel. Has always started and I have never missed an appointment due to the truck.
Overall, not bad but probably would not buy it again.

Durable and Dependable: A True Northern Vehicle
I bought my 2010 Jeep Patriot a few weeks before I moved to Northern Ontario. And when I say Northern Ontario, I mean Northern; None of this "North" Bay nonsense.

Since that time just over two years ago I have faced numerous life and death situations in this Jeep. Oncoming transports, ice covered roads, washouts, road cave-ins: All handled smoothly by my beloved Patriot.

Comfortable inside and great looking outside this Jeep has everything you could want in a comfortable and fuel efficient SUV.

Granted, this Jeep will not go everywhere that a Wrangler will, but for Winter Road use, medium duty off roading, and those unexpected situations, this Jeep cannot be beat.

WAY better than a Minivan
We needed a bigger vehicle for our growing family and because we live on a farm we wanted a 4X4 as well. We got both in the Jeep Patriot. Because it is set on a car-type chassis it works really well for me to load things in and out of the back and the kids in and out of the backseat. We didn't need extra clearance and we still have the 4 wheel drive. My only 2 complaints are that the steering column is very big and because I have to have the driver's seat pulled forward I am always banging my knees when I get in or out. It would also be better if the back doors opened a little wider. It was a tight fit to get the babyseat in and out. Other that that I love everything about the Jeep, especially the heated seats!

2010 Jeep Patriot

Trim: North Edition 4x4
by DriftNut56 on 10-22-2012
It's a car with a 4 inch lift, basically.
I've had this car since December 2011 and I can't decide whether I like it or not. On the one hand I chose it because I needed something that was going to get me around without spending all my money on gas but I also needed something that would be reliable driving back and forth between Edmonton and Calgary. It does the job but I have some issues. The cabin is very loud. It's like riding in the economy class of a jet, next to the engines. The tires that come with the vehicle are horrid Firestones. And it's been less the problem free. Since December I've put 37,000 km and I've had to replace the thermostats and the rear diff. Mind you, the car was purchased with a rebuilt status so I try to keep and open mind. The diff. shouldn't be breaking at 17,000 km's though.

This car does have good things about it. It's comfortable and everything on the dash is laid out nicely. It's simple. I like that. Also, the suspension is firm and the steering is sharp. The 4x4 is exceptional. I haven't had to turn it on yet but that could be attributed to the automatic nature of the thing. It's on when it needs to be. The rear seat leg room, I've been told, is exceptional as well.

The CVT transmission. I'm on the fence about it. On the one hand, it's good for highway driving. Makes the journey smooth cause there's no shifting or kickdown. On the other hand it makes the car whiny and the fuel economy is not very good in the city.

The aerodynamics of the car is not very good either. The passenger window wistles in the wind and the hood flaps at high speed. This might be a result of the rebuilt status, I don't know.

Keeping in mind it's a compact SUV, there isn't too much trunk space but folding the seats down is useful.

Overall, it's a better car than it is an SUV but the clearance height is good enough for most places. Maybe the trail rated model is different but I couldn't say.
