The sleek 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe might not look too different, but there's more to it than you'll see at first glance. The new GLC Coupe has gotten larger inside and out and is now home to the latest Mercedes-Benz tech and luxury.
The 2024 GLC Coupe is 31 mm longer than its predecessor, which makes it 4,763 mm long. The height is up 5 mm, and the rear track grows by 23 mm. The changes aren't massive, but they do make a difference that buyers should notice.
The extra length adds 45 L of more space under the stylish (and now standard power-operated) rear hatch. The GLC Coupe now holds 545 L of cargo, which opens up to 1,490 L with the rear seats folded, an increase of 90L from last year.
Another benefit of the revisions is that the GLC is sleeker and more aerodynamic, which should improve fuel efficiency. The sleeker shape also cuts interior noise levels, and Mercedes goes a step further for a quieter cabin with an acoustic windshield and available thermally insulated glass. A panoramic roof is now standard and has a 60-mm longer opening to let in more air.
For now, there's just one powertrain, a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder with a 48V mild hybrid system that makes 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The electric motor can add 23 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque to help when pulling away from a stop.
A 360-degree camera is now standard on the GLC Coupe, and it includes a camera that lets you see "through" the hood so you can see what you're driving over. Parking sensors on all sides are also included, and a parking assistant can guide you into the toughest spots.
The latest MBUX infotainment system has a 12.3-inch dashboard display and an 11.9-inch portrait orientation centre screen. The centre screen looks like it is floating above the dash, and it is strongly angled toward the driver. Mercedes says the system is quicker and more responsive, with improved voice learning capabilities.
One last new trick is the available Digital Light system. This adds a matrix of LEDs to the headlights that can be controlled individually. It offers better light, but it also allows features like guidelines and warnings projected onto the road surface. A spotlight feature helps you to see pedestrians in poor lighting.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is set to reach dealers in the first quarter of 2024. Expect more details and pricing as we get closer to that date.
