just a commute tool
It is a good car for daily commute. but not good for canada's winter. the power is not enough to handle the icy road.

It's ok
Honda has clearly been listening to its critics when cooking up the HFP (Honda Factory Performance) version of the new Civic Si coupe. Although it doesn't increase horsepower, the HFP edition Si (limited to just 400 units for the Canadian market) does make significant improvements in two key areas: handling and style.

When we track tested the 2012 Civic Si last year, we were let down by its soft suspension tuning and excessive body roll when cornering hard. We also weren't fans of the Si's relatively bland styling and the fact that its sheet metal was far too reminiscent of the outgoing model. On the other hand, the '06 to '11 Civic was a handsomely styled machine, so I can't blame Honda for not wanting to stray too far from its design. Nor can Honda be blamed for not wanting to reinvent the Civic too radically given that its been the best-selling car in Canada for 14 years in a row.

Good ride for the ease of fuel economy
The Acura 1.6EL has top performance the reliability for the average man. It comes with a good exterior and comfortable seating along with power locks, windows and easy steering. The speed on the car is pretty decent and it works well on long voyages.

Just a fancy Civic
This little car is really just a Honda Civic with style...

Same Honda reliability, fuel efficiency and size....masked simply with a slightly sexier sleeker design.

I was somewhat disapointed with the price as it didn't really reflect the small amount of luxury comparred to it's sister car the Civic.

Very nice ride, but a little too expensive for what it really was.

Regret selling
I drove my EL for nearly 200,000kms and thoroughly enjoyed the car. The interior design was nothing special and the cupholders were essentially useless, unless being used as a change holder. The manual transmission was very user friendly and at nearly 300,000kms was on the original clutch. Though reliable for the most part, the things that did go wrong were costly (A/C compressor, window regulator, exhaust manifold). Though compact in size, the interior was surprisingly accomodating and at nearly 300,000 looked nearly new - very little fade, scuffs or damage. The body of the car also held up well - except for rust around the rear wheel wells (common with these cars). When driven gingerly, the fuel consumption was great, but to get the most out of the engine results in significantly higher consumption numbers. It was also neat to have a car not available anywhere else but Canada.

Acura is my first car
First car is always the best! This car is quite sporty and fast! 14 years and still running.. may not be the best condition right now but it gave me a good run for the bucks.
