Volkswagen Jetta 2001Change

i have had my jetta for 16 years. i loved it and am getting a brand new jetta. you cant go wrong with a jetta.

I was always intrigued by the MK4 Volkswagens from the moment I saw them in 1999. I thought the styling was unlike anything out there and even today, 16 years after their release those cars still look brand new. I was interested in the Jetta, but I couldn't afford the higher trims so I cheaped out and got a GLS with a 2.0l engine in 2014, and I wasn't disappointed. The car has a surprising amount of torque and it can hold its speed going up a hill in 5th gear which is great. In winter the car holds the road nicely and stays planted with a decent amount of grip on ice which is a plus. I had mediocre tires as well, so I figured it's just the cars weight sticking it to the road which made me feel a bit safer. In all, it's a great, fun car and I loved my experience owning it!

Awesome car, great economy! Excellent reliability, great on insurance. No mechanical problems. I have many VWs in the family and this won't be the last!

I love this car! It has been great for me. Very reliable, parts aren't crazy expensive and the gas milage is average. There is a ton of aftermarket parts for this car and many different car clubs. The engine can take a lot of compression and can be easily upgraded without rebuilding the whole thing. Highly recommend getting this car, would buy again!

We bought this car 5 years ago in Vernon, and we've really enjoyed it. It's gotten us back and forth through the mountains to Vancouver and Calgary probably 20 times in all kinds of weather, very reliably.

This Jetta TDI has been almost totally trouble free since we bought it. We decided on all the options and loved the extra luxury. Can't beat the huge trunk. By putting down one of the back seats you can fit in a bicycle.
Drive to Toronto and back on one tank.
It's solid. not crazy about the placement of the cup holders, but noticed that VW has changed that with the newer models.
all in all very pleased.

Great car to drive. Excellent vehicle. Stands the test of time and lasts well beyond the kilometre value of North American comparables. This car handles very well on winter roads and the heated seats make for a toasty ride.

I love the VW TDI's. At 800 km of city KM's and 1200 hwy KM's per tank, road trips are a blast. The comfort is unlike any other - can easily drive until the tank is empty. German engineering sure is amazing in these vehicles.

Made very well, parts may be a little more expensive then on domestic vehicles, but well worth it.

I have had this model for about 6 months and has never let me down. I have become Volkswagen loyal and buying another Jetta :)

very comfortable with all of the bells and whistles. Fun sporty drive! love the heated seats and sun roof. Great for the highway. Reliable. Great car overall!

Excellent mileage and power features. Work done to pass e-test and certification. Could use some transmission work but runs now without. Ready to go!

Car is great on fuel economy however I think I bought a lemon. The car seems to always break down however I've learnt a lot about diesel cars by fixing and replacing parts myself. The car rides smooth, and is fairly comfortable. One downside on the interior design is the location of the cup holders. The engineers designing this weren't thinking very much as the cup holder drops right infront of radio and cd player. In later models they changed the cup holder position and improved this. Overall good car!

I love my 2004 VW Jetta Turbo! I've owned it for just over 3 years now. It's super fun to drive, good on gas, great for parking in tight spaces and maneuvering through traffic and has some serious kick (turbo)!

When we first bought this car it was just me, my husband and (at the time) his 9 year old son. Fast forward 3 years and my step son is a HUGE 12 year old and we've added a dog and a baby girl. This is NOT a good family car- too small. Our stroller barely fit in the trunk and getting my daughter in and out of her car seat is a SUPER pain in the a**.

Oil changes and maintenance are more expensive with this car than with other cars due to its import status. Also, for some reason our headlights are ALWAYS burning out. Not sure why.

This car is cute, powerful and good on gas, but if you're looking for a family car....look elsewhere.

Reliable, great, you know it! Easy to drive, solid functional car. Had it in black, looks good, not great, but good.

I bought this car brand new and have never had a single problem with it. It's comfortable, looks sporty and gets great mileage. If you want a car that you can depend on, look to the Jetta as it has given me nothing but reliability and assurance that it'll get me from A to B to C and D and back!

This car is pretty reliable for a 1-2 person driver. I t provides cd player, seat warmers, air conditioning, most of the features of a typical car. I would say it's very relaxing to drive for hours on end, and it's fuel is very reliable. For a half decent car this is a really good start.

i own a 5 speed 2.0L jetta and i must say this car is the most soild car i have driven. i owned a 95 integra and fuel economy was better then y jetta's. but i love my jetta much more, after 270000 and my first car accsident she still runs without any problems

My parents have exactly this car. They had this automobile when that I made my courts of driving. I was often practised with. It is on that with a turbodiesel, the performance is all the same slow. But quote economy of essence, it her better, according to me. It is an automobile which is all the same heavy, thus a good road holding. I have hardly like her driving. I would advise it to everybody. Quality prize very good. It is the car which lasts.

I love this car, it's extremely fun to drive and handles very well in all weather conditions. My only complaint is the cup holders which continually spill my coffee.

This car is in great shape and will last a long time.

I have really enjoyed driving it but I am staying close to Guelph these days and have a truck, two vehicles is too much for my current close to home life style.

It has been well maintained and my mechanic who has known this car through its last three owners spanning the last 5-6 years says "that's a good car" with emphasis. It runs great, gets great fuel economy and is extremely reliable, it also goes pretty good with great low end acceleration.

I love this car, I have a 5-speed manual VR6 model, I've had it for many years. Fun to drive and good pick up. Only thing is it breaks down quite too frequently, dependable but as it ages, not so much. i'd love to stay in the jetta family so I'll probably be upgrading to the newer models

Excellent vehicle as a daily driver. Comfortable and quite. Sporty enough with all the features of a four door sedan. 4cyl engine is lacking in power and the automatic transmission is lacking, but you can always buy a trim level up to satisfy your needs.
