Excellent Car!
Great little whip to get you around. Fun car to drive and any repairs that I've needed to do were easily completed by a friend who's a mechanic.

good trustworthy ride
I have been very comfortable with this car. It is a good, trustworthy, reliable car. I have been driving this car for 4 years now, and have never come across a problem which needed a repairman, or additional costs.

900 KMS Highway on a tank of fuel
The definition of German engineering in handling/driving and reliability. Installed a block heater and the car has never failed to start even in chilly -30. The timing belt was changed proactively as suggested at 150,000 KM to avoid any problems (I'm very happy to have spent the $800.00 for piece of mind!). I love this car and it has served me very well and I will be sad to say goodbye but know the next owner understands and respects the TDI fuel-efficiency as well as the whole German experience. Very comfortable ride, even lengthy road trips. At only 185,000 KMs, this vehicle has numerous years left and the comfortable, fully-loaded interior is sure to please.

As reliable and efficient as the German's can make a car
Have owned my 2005 Jetta for about 4 years now. Turned it into a summer car for myself, and it has been a joy to drive. I find the seats very comfortable to sit in for long drives (5+ hours)

The car is capable in power. It has reasonable get-up-and-go with the torque the diesel engine provides but it will never WOW you with it's speed. The car isn't built for that. That being said, these cars can be chipped for reasonable price, and that will improve power and torque considerably.

Fuel economy is fantastic. I never saw below 42 MPG (imp) when it was chipped, and my best fuel tank saw over 53 MPG (imp).

Interior fit and finish is good, and most surfaces one must rest on was touched with leather. Gauges were illuminated in a soft blue, which I hated at first (stylistically) but instantly loved on my first road trip. The car is easy on the eyes when you're driving in the dark.

Exterior styling is quintessential Jetta. If you like it, you like it. I personally favor the Jetta IV styling (ending in 2005.5) over the 2006, but that's just me. The sharp, uprightness for the front left the nose of the car badly exposed to rock chips and road damage from regular driving, robbing this car of 5 stars on the exterior.

2005 Jetta (not diesel)
Bought this car brand new off the lot in 2005. Never had any problems with it other than the window on the driver's side won't come down when the temperature drops below -15c

great little car. fantastic economy.
No worries. always dependable. Was owned by our duaghter in law to go back and forth to her teaching job. Very sharp little vechicle. Easy to get around. Needs new tires but other than that perfect in everyway.

It's a great safe and economical car
I bought this car brand new and it was great for just my husband and I but now 7 years later and 2 kids we definitely need a bigger car. This car is excellent on fuel! The only thing I hate about this car is the headlights at night, they're not very bright even with brights on. This car is well worth the money especially for the safety features and the huge savings at the pumps.

Very economical.
This is a great car for both the city and highway travel. It is very fuel efficient fun to drive. Being a smaller car it's great for the city and it's smaller side streets and confined parking spaces. Out on the highway it rides great and is quite enjoyable to drive over longer distances.

This thing has loads of room and is spaces for a compact sedan and has a massive trunk which is great for stowing lots of gear and luggage if duty calls.

I would recommend this car to anyone who is looking for an economical sedan and something that is still quite stylish for an older vehicle.
