Hyundai Accent 2008Change

I bought this 2 years old and had a few problems with it and I'm guessing the previous owner didn't take the best care. After a new transmision was installed (under the warranty) the car hadn't given me much problems it's been reliable Doesn't have a lot of power but it gets you where you want to go. 120 km is the most this car will comfortably go on the highway and that is more than what you need. It does get up to 140 but I have never gone beyond that. I live in cold end of Canada and my car reliably starts on those cold mornings. I use studded winters and with those installed i can drive through most storms. Back seats are not very comfy but I fit well into the drivers seat. I really like the size of the hatchback. It's roomy enough.

I have had this car for 7 years now. It is very reliable & handles well. Convenient back seats flips down for extra space if needed. heat and air conditioning work great. I have not had to put much
money towards repairs. Fun car & very economical on gas. I would recommend.

It has been close to 7 years that I bought this car 2nd hand.
Very pleased with the handling & gas economy. Back seats fold down if I need to carry larger items. Have very cold winters where I live but my car always starts without problem. The heating in this car is really good as it takes very little time before the car gets warm in the winter or the air conditioning cools the car in the summer. Have had to do very little repairs since 7 years. Very practical & economic car to own. Will probably still have this car in 5 years.

Sometimes I feel I have to say slow down. Handles very well but revs a little high over 110 kph.

The 5 speed transmission is very responsive and easy, and the braking is immaculate. Highway driving feels more like a sedan than a sub-compact. The interior space is surprisingly large, and with a hatchback, rear storage, hailing etc, room is not an issue.

This car never lets me down. Seats five, or fold down one or both back seats for tons of cargo room. We were surprised how much we could fit in the back, and still have room to see out the back. Bigger windows than a Calibre let you see more, and higher clearance than the Fit, very helpful for winter roads. It's had no issues. Would buy it again in a heartbeat.

this was my first car and I love it. Small enough to manoeuvre around traffic and park easily. Great interior for 5 people.

Six years no issues at all. Superb value for the money. Has everything you'd want in a car and excellent on gas.

this is a great first car to buy. economically it is a great choice for both city and highway driving, handling is good, and is very forgiving when teaching friends how to drive stick. the only downfall i have with my car is that it does not have abs, cruise control, and can be a little soft under the hood.

Bought it with 27,400 km,now have 113,100 a year and half later,not one issue.
Goes through snow banks on road,starts no matter what.

Love this car, it's great on gas and gets me around, easy to drive and love that it has lots of windows. The hatchback it great too!

The Hyundai Accent was the first car I ever bought of the Car lot.I was impressed by the style of this car. After ovening this car for a number of years I noticed the fuel economy as we take several long trips.Excellent Highway car as well as good around town. Worth the money.

I bought this car pre-owned 4 months ago, it's not the fanciest looking car however i have the GSL model that comes with heated seats, air conditioning and power locks and i had cruise control installed So far i have had no trouble with it at all and it have great fuel economy. I drive over an hours on the highway everyday and it cost me around 10 dollars Canadian.

My hatchback is a manual transmission and I found that had more pep than an automatic. It is fun to drive, reliable and quick to respond. For a two door it is surprisingly roomy in seating and cartage area. The only problem I had with it was with the ignition, but Hyundai has a great warranty and it was fixed at no cost to me

i recommend that car to peeps that have low budget to put on gas .... dont drink at all , reliable car ... nto breaking for nothing and if you want you can have some power under the hood!!!!

The seats are firm and it feels a bit too small for a compact car compared to the competition. The Accent has plenty of power with the 5-speed and the air conditioning is bone chilling. The panels (doors and windows, hood, and trunk) feel very solid but the downfall is that this car uses a bit more gas when considering weight and engine performance.

This car lacks interior storage holes and dashboard/front speakers.

the car is great on gas and never had a problem. The car is also great in the winter time with the snow tires.

Overall I would say that I am fairly satisified with my car however I do feel that for a basic model it is really basic. When comparing against other cars within that same price point I was disappointed in my choice of car and felt that I could have got more for my money purchasing something else. The seats are not very comfortable and the interior looks cheap. What I do like about the car is how cheap it is on gas and with the amount of travel I do (approx 60k yearly) fuel economy is important.

This car will not wow you in any way. It has dissapointing fuel economy compared to the competition. However, it is very reliable. I have had no issues with it in 4 years of mixed city and highway driving. Overall, it is a good small car.

This car is not the most beautiful car I've ever had...
But it the best car I ever bought!

I would love to keep it, but I don’t use it anymore.

We bought this car for commuting to the city and have not been disappointed. It has a nice ride for a small car and its a lot of fun to drive. It has lots of good options except for cruise control which I really miss especially due to all the highway driving. Ours has over 100KM and other than regular maintenance this car has not given us any problems at all. We owned a 2000, 2001, 2008 and our daughter just bought a 2012 Accent. Great little car.

This is my first vehicle. Was purchased new, with a great 5 year bumper to bumper warranty, with that alone, Hyundai outbeats any other manufacturer. Backseat of the accent is much roomier than any other compact car. I have a child who sat in the backseat, with her friends comfortably.
Other than having the breaklight replaced (fully covered) 4 years and no issues. Their customer service is great! The salesman called me for 3 years wishing me a happy new year. They really care about their customers.
I am a little disappointed on fuel economy. At the beginning it cost 10-15 bucks less to fill up the tank (gas prices are lower now).
Everyone compliments the baby blue colour (not available now).
It does scratch VERY easy. The seats are hard to keep clean. Even with no eating in the car, I have to scrub marks out.
If your looking for a reliable car, for everyday driving, if you are a single person or single parent, this is a great car! You cant beat the warranty and service. The complaints I have are minor.

- sporty styling in GLS/Sport trim (i.e. optional alloy wheels, fog lights)
- seats are supportive and comfortable (drove this from Toronto to Cape Breton - 20 hrs of driving)
- underpowered, but expected for this class of car and engine size (acceleration is slow on long inclines, esp. with the a/c on)
- good on gas
- fun throw-around handling
- no ABS; no traction control -- but not overly important if you know how to drive in the snow (snow tires would help this)
- fun little city car capable of being a good companion on long trips too

Bought the car, and thought I was really downgrading from my Ford Escape. I was prepared to be squished on long commutes in order to save a bit of money on fuel. I was so surprised after having the vehicle for some time that it feels very spacious, I believe because of the way they designed the dashboard.

I was so comfy in it that I actually made the treck from Ontario to Nova Scotia last year in it. Pretty good on fuel economy, but tough to get to 100 km/hr on uphill ramps. That's what you get for a small engine.

Overall, I love my car!.. Definitely splurge and get the model with Alloys.
